Obama’s Daughter Malia Joins Protest Against President Trump

Ex-President Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia Obama, was reportedly spotted among protesters, protesting against President Trump’s plan to revive the Dakota Access Pipeline Project.

The 18-year-old girl, who will be in Havard later this year, was among approximately 100 people who took to Main Street at the Sundance Film Festival while it was still snowing, to show their dissatisfaction with President Trump’s decision to move ahead with the controversial transport

system, with placards reading ‘Exist. Resist. Rise.’ and ‘Impeach corporate control.’

It was however, Shailene Woodley, who has been campaigning for the cause using her celebrity status, that told Democracy Now, that Malia was part of the protesters.

‘It was amazing to see Malia. I saw her last night when we did the event with Chairman Dave Archambault. And it was incredible to see her there,’ said Woodley, 25, when asked about the former first daughter’s very public support of the cause.

She went on to say:

‘Also, to witness a human being and a woman coming into her own outside of her family and outside of the attachments that this country has on her, but someone who’s willing to participate in democracy because she chooses to, because she recognizes, regardless of her last name, that if she doesn’t participate in democracy, there will be no world for her future children.’

Many Nigerians have said Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah doesn’t walk red carpets with his wife Emelia Philips-Nouah because she is not beautiful.

Ramsey, your marriage appears to have stood the test of time. You have been married for 15 years now. Some of your colleagues have been unlucky in this regard.

RAMSEY: Contrary to a widely held notion, the success of a marriage largely rests on the woman. But these days, a lot of marriages are based on equality. A woman wants to get 50 per cent of whatever she is giving into the marriage back from the man. This has led to the breakdown of many marriages.

From time our mothers used to be the women that held their marriages. They were in charge of the home. Our mothers took charge of everything but today women don’t want that kind of responsibility. Hence, it is affecting marriages.

My wife belongs to the category of “our mothers”. She believes in sustaining our marriage and holding it strong.

So whenever I am asked how we have been able to keep it together, I tell them my wife is the woman who has actually held our home.

RAMSEY: That is what they think. My wife is very cute. May be because my wife is not loud or flashy when it comes to make-up or wearing long weaves. She is very natural and she knows that I love her natural looks.

“Harrysong, don’t forget your humble beginnings, NEVER bite the fingers that fed you” – Egor Efiok

 

The President of Professional Filmmakers Of Nigeria (PFN), Egor Efiok has written an open letter to Harrysong after his management Altarplate blasted his former label, Five Star Music for arresting him and cursed singer Kcee out saying he is talentless and frustrated.

According to Egor, no matter what happened between Harrysong and his former label, he should never fight them to the point where he leaves no room for reconciliation as nobody knows tomorrow.

Read below:

Dear Harrysong,

I read with shock and disgust your irresponsible reply to your former record label, Five star, via your new rep and failed journalist, Desmond. You have lost even more respect by hiring this ex convict to write this irresponsible statement on your behalf.

This Desmond “journalist” was jailed for trying to blackmail a bank manager and some Nollywood stars. This is the sort of company that you left Five Star Record for. Well done.

I do not know what happened between yourself and Kcee and I don’t particularly care, as it is normal/okay for friends to quarrel and go their separate ways; same with husbands and wives.

However, you should never fight to the point where you leave no room for reconciliation…nobody knows tomorrow.

You claim that Kcee is untalented and that you are actually the talented one and the person who wrote all Kcee’s songs. You may be right about writing Kcee’s songs, but that doesn’t mean that you are more talented.

Truth is, I had never heard of you until you hooked up with Kcee. So if you really were the more talented one, Kcee definitely was the more popular one. Your combined talent and energy was what made your team a success, so you both contributed in your own unique ways.

Never forget that KC and his brother E Money, spent tons of money on you. Always respect them for this and for giving you your first real break. They do not deserve backstabbing in return.

Finally, heed this advice if you are smart: Leave if you want to leave Harrysong, but NEVER bite the fingers that fed you. It has dire consequences.

The dispute between Harrysong and Five Star Music has gotten messier with both camps throwing shade at each other. In the latest press statement by Alterplate, the management says, ‘Kcee is confused and as such frustrated and we can understand‘

Lagos police reportedly picked up Harrysong at his home yesterday morning, January 27, to meet with the state’s Assistant Inspector General who’s in charge of the case between the singer and his former management.

His management is claiming that Harry wasn’t arrested, but invited by the state’s AIG.‘It was 8 am and Policemen acting on the instruction of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Onikan, stormed our hotel room to invite Harrysong over for questioning, as a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, we got dressed up and set out for the AIGs office and on getting there we were greeted by the presence of a haggard looking young man in cheap pair of suit, identified as Five Star Music lawyer.’ Desmond, a representative for Alterplate said.

They also added that the supposed breach of contract as captured in their petition is a civil and not a criminal case.

‘On the other hand, as against the kangaroo statement released by Five Star music earlier today, I wish to also state that Harrysong did not at any time approach anyone or company to sign him; it was rather the other way round. Kcee approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career after he fell out with his then partner.’

Harrysong’s new management also stated that Kcee and his Five Star Music, out of desperation, were prepared to pay off Kelvin Luciano in their quest to have him at all cost when he still had a running contract with Questionmark Records.

They also said that Mr Songs succeeded in recreating Kcee’s sound, wrote and co-produced his first meaningful single, ‘Had It Been I Know’, followed by ‘Okpekete’, ‘Limpopo’, ‘Pull Over’ and other songs that defined the Kcee that everyone knows and celebrates today.

“Buhari may live longer than those peddling his death rumour” — Oshiomhole

Erstwhile governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has described the rumoured death of President Muhammadu Buhari as mischievous, saying the rumour is an indication of a longer life for the President.

Oshiomhole, who spoke during the bye-election conducted in Etsako Federal constituency, yesterday, said he had been holidaying in his village at Iyamho, which, according to him, will afford him the opportunity to contribute his quota to the upliftment of his community.

The former governor cautioned those spreading the rumour about the alleged death of Buhari to remember what happened to those who initiated the rumour about the death of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, a former ceremonial president of Nigeria.He recalled that all those in the burial committee for Azikiwe later died while the former politician was alive.

“If Nigeria medical doctors find cause for you to go and do routine medical check, why would anybody make it an issue that any Nigeria including our President should be denied the right for a medical check? Why would that be an issue and we like to speculate the worst? It is an unnecessary controversy” Oshiomhole said.

“He is entitled to his vacation and we have seen US President going to Camp David to have a rest. We saw Cameron photograph wearing bikini with his wife in Spain on vacation. If you journalists don’t go on vacation, it is because you have not fought for your right to take out time from your work.”

On how he has been spending his time outside office, Oshiomhole said he has been enjoying good rest just as he said his life in office will be detailed in his memoir.
