Liberian Woman With Ebola Arrested At Lagos Airport

Reports just reaching EXCLUSIVEBAZE.COM has it that a Liberian woman infected with the Ebola virus has been caught at the Lagos international airport today, when she arrived from the Air Morok flight.
The woman whose name was not identified as at the time of this report, was said to have just landed at the Lagos airport when she was screened and the virus was detected in her.
She was immediately arrested........

JAMB Begins Sale Of 2015 UTME Forms

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said its application forms for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, is now available nationwide for prospective candidates, reaffirming that the examination will be on Computer-Based Test (mode) only.
This was disclosed recently when Nigerian Pilot called on the Spokesperson of the Board, Mr. Fabian Benjamin.
He said the registration period will last between Monday September 15, 2014 and Thursday January 15, 2015, while the website closes Monday January 19, 2015.
Mr. Benjamin stated that in addition to the registration fee, candidates will be expected to pay additional N500 for a copy of a newly introduced textbook, ‘The Last Days at Forcados High School’, adding that the Board has made arrangement to provide the book to avoid the challenge of availability and piracy and that the textbooks will be issued at the point of registration.
According to the JAMB Spokesman, the Board has also introduced a regulated registration format where only our Computer-Based Test, CBT, centers and state offices nationwide are authorised to register candidates.
“The idea of a regulated registration centre is to prevent situations where candidates are exploited and to check impersonation, including other acts of malpractices”, he said.

Former President Obasanjo’s son shot in Mubi by Boko Haram

militants attacked a platoon led by the son of former
President Olusegun Obasanjo, shooting him today..
They say he ustained serious injuries to his legs and
was being transported to the hospital at the time of

“Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a
Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos,
Plateau State.
He and his platoon were engaged with Boko
Haram militants at Baza, which is the village of the
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd

The Lieutenant Agwu of the 234 battalion, GOC of
the 3rd Division, Major Gen JS Zaruwa and
Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the
Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army brigade in
Yola were all together advancing towards Michika
when Boko Haram fighters unleashed the deadly
attack on the soldiers.”
24 soldiers in the platoon were reportedly killed
by the militants.
Apart from the dead soldiers, the army also lost
an armored tank to the militants. As a result of
the attack, the army has moved sensitive weapons
from mubi to the Brigade headquarters in Yola
leaving mubi vulnerable to attack. The town of
Mubi has practically been deserted following the
closure of schools and massive retreat of soldiers
from the city.
The former president is currently traveling in
Singapore according to family sources.

Although, there exists an advanced hack you can implement to insert an ad in the middle of a Blogger post but I'm sharing with you in this post, a trick that simply involves the use of Blogger's "Post Template" feature.

Post template helps save you time by pre-formatting the post editor. You can use it to format your posts in a certain way. Hence, you can also use it to automatically display your adverts in the middle of your posts.

How To Get Started

==> Get your Adsense code or advert code ready
==> Log in to your Blogger dashboard and go to Settings > Posts and comments, then click Add next to Post Template.
==> Paste your ad code in the box and save. (No need to parse the code).

That's all.

When next you need to compose a post, click on the "HTML" tab of the post editor to see your ad code.

Type your post content above and below the ad code, so that the advert will be in the middle.

When you are through with typing the content, you can click on the "Compose" tab to easily add links etc to your post.

When you are done, publish your post, view and you should see the ad in the middle of the post.

7 Tips for Ad dynamo Advertisers To Increase Campaign Performance

While trying to find out how retargeting works on Addynamo, I stumbled on some tricks shared on Addynamo website. If you've been running some online ad campaings using the Ad dynamo ad network, below are tips to optimize performance of your campaings:

1. Use CPM for Brand Awareness Campaigns

Although, CPC (Cost Per Click) is rated as the most cost effective form of advertising, you may try opting in for the CPM (Cost per Impression) bidding model if you only want to use the ad campaign to create awareness for your brand.

Ad Dynamo scores ads based on historic performance. Hence, if you use CPC bidding model and your ads have a low click through rate, they will probably be shown progressively less on the Ad Dynamo network of publishers.

Altering the campaign to a CPM bid will effectively instruct Ad Dynamo to ignore the click through rate & your ads will enjoy greater exposure.

NB: You can only select your bidding method (Pay per click or Pay per Impression) when creating a campaign on Addynamo.

2. Create Multiple Campaigns & Ad Groups

If you're running campaigns across multiple countries, it makes sense to monitor the performance of each country individually. You can do this by creating a seperate campaign for each country that is targeted. You can select country to be targeted via the "campaign Settings" on Addynamo.

When you're advertising multiple products or services, it makes sense to create a seperate AdGroup for each product in order to properly evaluate the performance of each respective product. i.e if you create a campaign for your Nigeria online fashion store, you should create seperate AdGroups for men office shirts, women dresses etc

3. Multiple Creatives/Advertisement

The more ad sizes that you load into an AdGroup, the more exposure you can win without adjusting your bid per click.  This is because your ads will qualify for a wider selection of relevant publishers.

Hence, instead of just promoting your product with just a text ad, try to create ad banners of sizes supported by Ad dynamo and upload them to your adgroup.

4. Enable Google Analytics Option

When creating a campaign you're presented with an option to activate Google Analytics Tracking. If enabled, it will let you  access via Google Analytics, data of traffic generated to your website by Ad Dynamo and more valuable information that can assist you to optimize your campaign.

If enabled, you can view your Addynamo Ad campaign stats at Google Analytics via "Acquisition" > "Campaigns".

5. Enable Ad Dynamo Run of Network Option

The "Run of Network" feature of Addynamo has replaced Keyword targeting. It lets advertisers target all the websites of Addynamo publishers unless they have chosen to disable Run of Network. This will allow you to target a lot of websites through activating it allowing your campaign to achieve good results.


6. Don't Use A Very Low CPC When Targeting Sites

The ad dynamo platform works on a bidding system so the advertisers with the highest bid will have their adverts displayed on a specific website. If you use a very low CPC, your ad campaigns might not record any impression.

According to my Addynamo account manager, the Nigerian average is around $0.12 and $0.18. Hence, altering the CPC of your ad campaign to fall within that range will definitely increase your campaign performance.

7. Track Conversions

A Conversion represents an activity on your website that you would like to track against your advertising campaign. Examples of conversions include: a sale, a lead, a view of an important web page. By tracking conversions, you can monitor the cost per lead, or cost per conversion - effectively helping you to
measure the return on investment (ROI) of your ad campaign.

You can record conversions for your ads by inserting the Addynamo conversion code on your website. Place it on the page where the conversion should be recorded. You can get the code via the "Advanced" tab on the Addynamo Campaigns page.

Boko Haram Takes Over 13 Nigerian Towns in Broad Daylight

    The highly dreaded Boko Haram sect on Sunday continued its expansionist drive by overrunning Michika and Uba in Adamawa State. The capture of the two towns brings to 13, the number of communities now controlled by the sect in the North East.

The others are Gwoza, Buni Yadi, Gamboru Ngala, Damboa, Marte, Bama, Bara, Banki, Gulak, Dikwa and Madagali.

News of the capture of Michika and Uba coincided with lamentation on Sunday by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Baba Jidda, that most parts of Borno had been taken over by Boko Haram.

A security source said the sect which took over Gulak on Friday night, moved from there to Uba.

He confessed that when soldiers on guard saw Boko Haram arriving in over 50 pick -up vans and hundreds of motorcycles, they retreated because they were outnumbered...

The source also told Punch that the arms and ammunition in possession of the insurgents were superior to those held by the soldiers.

The insurgents, it was learnt, moved from Uba to Michika, which is the hometown of a former Lagos State military administrator and Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirant, Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.)

It was gathered on Sunday that they also headed for Mubi, the host community to the Adamawa State University.

A source, who confided in one of correspondents, said that the military later deployed fighter jets and helicopters in the areas to chase out the insurgents .

He added that eight trucks carrying some troops were sighted going to the troubled areas.

It was further gathered that the Adamawa State Acting Governor, Alhaji Adamu Fintiri, on learning that many of the residents of the troubled communities were fleeing, dispatched six luxury buses to move them to Yola.

Our source said that the insurgents, who were firing into the air, were advising the people not to flee because they had only come to engage the military in gun battle.

He said, “The Boko Haram members are now in Uba and Michika, the headquarters of Michika Local Government Area.

“The insurgents who were moving in over 50 hillux vans and hundreds of motorcycles, were wielding assorted weapons.

“When they started advancing from Madagali to Uba, the soldiers who were in Uba withdrew to Michika and they(insurgents) headed for Michika and Mubi.

“There was no shootout between them and the soldiers even though eight trucks carrying troops were sighted on the road leading to those communities. Air Force fighter jets were also said to have pursued them.

“Several people fled the communities to avoid being killed by insurgents.”

One of the residents of Michika, who is now taking refuge in Hong, Joseph Kwaya, said, “We left the town based on the instruction of the military. As I am talking to you, majority of the people in the area have left out of fear.

“The situation is very bad and we pray God to intervene and bring an end to the activities of Boko Haram.”

It was not only the people of Michika, Mubi and Uba that fled, their neighbours in Bazza and Marraban also took to their heels on learning that the insurgents were advancing.

A source,who did not want his name in print, said many people from Uba and Marraban Mubi were also seen trekking long distances to find vehicles that could take them to Hong and Yola.

A resident of Hong, Ibrahim Danjil, said, “Our town is now full of people who fled from Uba, Michika, Madagali and Bazza.”

Efforts to contact the Chief Press Secretary to the Acting Governor, Solomon Kumangar, for comments proved abortive.

One of our correspondents also made repeated efforts to get the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen Chris Olukolade, to comment on the increasing activities of insurgents in Adamawa State without success.

Most parts of Borno now occupied by Boko Haram –SSG
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Amb. Baba Jidda, has lamented that most parts of the state were now being occupied by Boko Haram.

Jidda, at a news conference in Abuja on Sunday, added that normal government, economic, social and political activities in the state had been dislocated.

He also said that a huge number of displaced persons was now living in refugee camps in Maiduguri and neighbouring states as well as Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Former Nigeria Under- 17 and 20 Coach John Obuh has jumped to the defence of Stephen Keshi’s tactics after the Super Eagles shock 3-2 loss to Congo in Calabar.
The Enugu Rangers gaffer admitted the loss is a setback but insists Keshi’s coaching ability should not be judged on the game.
“I accept the loss is hard to take but faulting Keshi’s tactics is way over the board,sometimes there is little a coach can do when players fail to turn up in game,” he told SL10.ng.
“It’s easy for fans to crucify a coach after such defeat at home, but judging Keshi, who brought Nigeria football out of the wilderness it found herself by a game is harsh, very harsh”
However, Obuh insisted the coaching crew and the boys will have no chance but to respond in their next game against South Africa to win back public trust and support.
  

Iheanacho enjoying his time at Colombus Crew – Officials

      

Kelechi Iheanacho is enjoying his time  training with MLS side Colombus Crew, officials have said.
Colombus coach Gregg Berhalter said the Nigeria youngster, who is on the books of EPL champions Manchester City, is shaping up at his latest base, but there are no plans to sign him up.
“He’s enjoying himself,” Berhalter said. “The guys have embraced him; he’s doing a good job.”
The move to the Crew was brokered by one of Berhalter’s old USMNT friends Claudio Reyna, the director of football operations at New York City Football Club, the MLS expansion club that is partially-owned by the same group that runs English Premier club Manchester City.
“Basically, we’re providing training from an individual…He’s here getting fit, getting sharp, training in a good atmosphere where he can learn. That’s what it’s about,” disclosed the Colombus coach.
“[Iheanacho] wanted a place to train. [Manchester City] approached us. … He wanted to play at a club and train, and I guess we have similar philosophies, values, so we said we’d be glad to help out.”
Iheanacho, who is staying in a hotel in Columbus, will be around until mid-October, according to Berhalter.

Osun raises 54,000 oil palm seedlings for plantation regeneration

                        

Osun Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security Mr Wale Adedoyin has said the government has raised 54,750 improved oil palm seedlings to replace ageing palm trees.
Adedoyin spoke at Ojere farm settlement in Ife North Local Government Area at the weekend
The commissioner said the distribution was a component of government’s Semi Wild Groove Yield Enhancement Scheme.
He said the programme was borne out of the government’s commitment to the production of food in abundance.
He promised that the government would ensure the provision and distribution of free, unadulterated oil palm seedlings to farmers in the state.
He said the government raised 54,750 improved oil palm seedlings spread in seven nurseries in which 41,544 was the establishment count to replace ageing oil palm trees.
Adedoyin enjoined oil palm farmers at the Ojere axis, the direct beneficiaries of the pilot scheme, to use seedlings to regenerate their plantations.
Mr Seyi Adegbembo, Project Manager of Tree Crops in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, charged farmers to make the best use of the agricultural farm inputs.
Mr Adejumo Anthony, a beneficiary, who spoke on behalf of the farmers, described the occasion as an omen of the good things that would happen in the agricultural sector.
Adejumo described the regeneration of oil plantations as a wise investment for the state.

Osun APC petitions INEC over Ife results

                 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the results from eight local government areas in the governorship election.
Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Environmental Matters, Bola Ilori, broke the news at the weekend in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
He said: “We have written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about the manipulation of votes by the PDP in the four wards of the Ife South Local Government Area. In all, the APC is contesting results of eight council areas because of what happened during the election in these areas. So, people should not be surprised that votes counted for the PDP would be deducted.”
Ilori said it was clear to the voters that Omisore wanted power not in the public interest but to serve his selfish and inordinate ambition.
He said: “People of Osun are not fools. They know Omisore was pretending to love them while his heart was far away from the state. If Omisore is accusing the administration of capital flight, the people know who their friend is and who is boosting the economy of the state and who is doing the opposite. All the policies and programmes of the Aregbesola administration have brought about a multiplier effects that significantly reflect on the quality of lives of the residents.”
Ilori said the PDP would be surprised that some of the votes counted for Omisore would be deducted at the conclusion of the tribunal sitting.

APC chieftains including Governors Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), among others, were at the ceremony.
On her husband’s defection to the APC, Mrs. Saraki said it was in line with the people’s wish.
She said he was inspired by God and the people’s wish to dump the PDP.
The highly-elated woman said her husband’s decision to join APC was not driven by selfish desire.
She thanked the indigenes and other Nigerians for turning out en masse to celebrate with her.
Senator Saraki said he was humbled by the large presence of prominent personalities, especially in the APC, who trooped to the state to rejoice with his wife.
He also spoke on the statement by the Kwara APC that there would be no automatic ticket for any aspirant, saying the decision applied to him.
