Fire outbreak at TheNews, PMNews headoffice in Lagos

There was a fire outbreak at the head-offices of TheNews  and PMNews ,  two popular news  publishers on Wednesday evening. The fire was said to have started at about 6:30pm and gutted the last floor of the two story building on Acme Road, Lagos.
The inferno was allegedly caused by a power surge. There were no casualties, an employee of the TheNews who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed.
He, however, said the fire destroyed every equipment and property in the affected floor.
He said, “The fire was very ferocious. I think the fire was caused by power surge. When the power supply was restored, the voltage was high and some employees did not switch off their systems.”
